Difference MakerTy Halford, head water polo coach at Clear Creek High School, has been named the 2024-2025 National Boys Water Polo Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). In eight years leading the Wildcats, Halford compiled a 109-15-3 record, won back-to-back Class 6A state championships, and earned recognition from the Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas Farm Bureau Insurance — a true testament to his dedication to student athletes and the Clear Creek community.

NFHS National Coach of the Year
Difference MakerVickie Wright of McWhirter Elementary (Clear Creek ISD) and Ashley Anderson of Dickinson Continuation Center (Dickinson ISD) have been named the 2026 Region 4 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). Selected from a pool of finalists spanning 47 public school districts and 43 charter schools across the Houston area, both educators will now represent the region at the state level — where one will be named Texas Teacher of the Year and advance to the National competition.
