Galveston City Council voted 6-1 Thursday to approve a $14 million Seawall Boulevard beautification project that will install new LED lighting, decorative palm tree planters, upgraded pedestrian crosswalks, and public art installations along the 10-mile seawall. Construction is expected to begin in January 2027 and be complete by summer 2028.
