The Galveston Bay Foundation released its annual bay health report showing seagrass coverage in West Galveston Bay has reached its highest level since 1994, a sign that water quality improvement efforts are working. The foundation credited reduced nutrient runoff from improved wastewater treatment plants and a decade of volunteer seagrass restoration planting.
