League City broke ground Thursday on a $55 million Clear Creek Nature Preserve and Outdoor Recreation Complex that will feature 8 miles of hike-and-bike trails, a kayak launch, a nature education center, a splash pad, and three new sports fields along a 220-acre stretch of Clear Creek. The project, funded through a 2024 bond election, is expected to open in phases through 2028.
