Galveston's Pleasure Pier announced a $18 million expansion plan Thursday that will add three new thrill rides — including a 200-foot drop tower — an expanded waterfront dining pavilion with four new restaurant concepts, and a new children's play area. The expansion, expected to open for the 2027 summer season, will make Pleasure Pier the largest amusement pier on the Gulf Coast.
