The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for the greater Houston metro area through Thursday night as a slow-moving storm system is expected to drop 4 to 8 inches of rain across Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties. The NWS warned that bayous and creeks could rise rapidly and urged residents in flood-prone areas to monitor conditions closely and have an evacuation plan ready.
